A very special tour with wine tasting in Sicily

Our 8-night itinerary is designed for a maximum of 15 persons. This will make your tour intimate and even better designed starting from a selection of first-rate accommodations with lots of time to dedicate to yourself and to the pleasures this island has to offer amidst wine, great cuisine, art, history and culture.

Our first stop will be Verdura Golf & Spa Resort, a real 5-star oasis of peace plunged in the nature and sitting on the island’s southern rocky coast. You will get an exclusive dinner right away at a 1-Michelin-star restaurant.

As you wake up, the real tour begins. The first stop will be Marsala, the city of wine, where we will be visiting one of the best winemaking companies across the surroundings, Donna Fugata. Here a lunch featuring Sicilian dishes accompanied by local wines will be served.

From Selinunte to Palermo

The third day will kick off by allowing yourself some well-deserved relaxation and time to dedicate to your interests. In the late afternoon, we will be heading towards Selinunte, Europe’s largest archaeological park, and, lastly, to the wine cellar of Planeta a Sambuca, one of the island’s most important vineyards.

On the fourth day, it will be time to discover Agrigento along with the Valle dei Templi (Valley of the Temples), Sicily’s first archaeological park, whilst at lunchtime we will head to Licata and stop at the 2-Michelin-star restaurant La Madia.

Our wine tour in Sicily always includes a visit of Palermo which will take place on the fifth day: a private visit of the city comprising a lunch at the mansion of a local aristocrat, whereas in the afternoon we will be marvelling at the churches and mosaics of Monreale, a nearby hilltop town.

The last three days in Sicily

The following two nights we will be lodging at Tenuta Regaleali, a historic mansion where Sicily’s most traditional atmosphere has never vanished. During the first dinner at the mansion, guests will be sampling 29 Tasca d’Almerita wines learning agricultural and winemaking techniques.

The sixth day will be spent enjoying this mansion’s picturesque atmosphere. In the morning, we will head to Case Vecchie, the cooking school run by the Tasca family, where guests will become familiar with the preparation of some of the region’s best known and appreciated dishes. The day will carry on with wine tastings and another mouth-watering dinner prepared by the mansion’s highly talented cooks.

The seventh day we will be paying a visit to Taormina, where we will stay for the last night at Belmond Gran Hotel Timeo, a luxurious, historical hotel right in the heart of this wonderful town. Before getting there, we will admire the cellar of Cottanera at the foot of Mount Etna.

The eighth and final day of our 8-day guided wine tour in Sicily is free. You may choose whether you wish to explore the town or enjoy the wonderful pool of our hotel. A final dinner will help us bid farewell to this wonderful land after eight days crammed with emotions experienced together.
